Ritoru Arashi hails from the Village Hidden in the Mist along with his brother Hageshi Arashi. The two were gifted genin from a young age with Ritoru possessing a natural talent for water style and Hageshi in possession of unique magnetic style. There is a 6 year difference between the two brothers; as well as a schism between their personalities.
At the age of 12 Ritoru and Hageshi were training together when Hageshi caused the ground to give way beneath Ritoru's feet, plunging him into an underground chamber. Inside the chamber was a painting of Raijen in the storm clouds pounding on his drums with lightning flashing from his drum and sticks. Beneath the painting, an ornate cane rested on a mantle; Ritoru ventured forth and retrieved the cane. Upon his touch the cane began to glow and Ritoru's hand forced itself to grip the cane

Gray wished he could have seen the old road at it's height. He had heard the stories, seen the pictures of the great tent cities that would pop up overnight, stick around for a few days then disappear as quickly as it had come. As he walked down the road he spotted a large tree just off to the side. He paused for a moment to admire the tree. The only tree for miles around surrounded by vast empty flat plains, it almost looked kind of sad as if it mourned the loss of traffic on the old road. But for Gray, the tree meant only two things.
